New Years Resolution #1 -- dedicated to Jordan and Kim

I dedicate this post to Jordan and Kim.

It has been brought to my attention (by Jordan and Kim) that 90% of the stuff I say is absolutely not true. I'm not trying to deceive anyone, but I exaggerate, or can't find the right words so use ones that aren't 100%, or I'll think I know something (like the rules to a game) and it'll be logical but not true, OR tell stuff that's been told to me that I don't go on and confirm...and then it turns out it's not true. So, my new years resolution #1 is to stop that. I tried to start it yesterday and I've already found myself called out on doing it again more than once, so I guess I'm not being super successful yet. Blast.

Happily in LA!

After the not so fun activity of moving and driving, we are here in sunny California!

Most of the beginning days we were here I spent sewing for my Etsy orders. Glad the push is over for a little while! I have another order, but he hasn't purchased it yet so I'm not going to go buy the fabric until he does (learned that the hard way a couple times already). We've had lots of activities put together by Jordan's mom, Tawna, and they've been so fun!

One of the first nights we were here we went and had dinner with a bunch of people at the church gym. We hung out with some people the Bodilys had known for a long time (Clint and Madelyn Okamoto + family) who are fabulous.

We also went to a party at Jordan's friend's house. It was great to see them again!

There was a Taco Tuesday at Jordan's Aunt Theresa's house with all the California cousins--what a blast! We played Catchphrase and it was so fun! Theresa had some Halloween costumes in her guestroom so we put the babies in some of them and Dillon put one on--it was cute!

THEN, on Wednesday was a girls day out with Tawna, Theresa, Kim, and me! It was a great day in downtown LA. We started out by going to lunch at Phillipe's for an award winning french dip--yum yum yum! We then went and saw The Grinch Musical and it was great! It was 100% Christmas! The actors were of course, super talented and it was in a really cool theater--the Pantages! It looked like the theater from Singing in the Rain, but I'm going to have to watch the movie again because I'm not too sure--it sure looked like it though. We took a walk through downtown and it was a blast! We went in a few vintage shops that were AWESOME. After we went to the theater with all the celebritys' hands and feet in the cement, and that was pretty cool. I'd been there before, but there were some new ones like Robert Downey Jr's--so cool! It was a great Christmas present from Tawna, and I sure am thankful for it!

It's so fun to have all the family around playing with and loving the kids!

And then there was Christmas! Christmas is so much more fun with kids! The first present that was opened was a little walker for Porter which he of course loved, and Wyatt has the same one, so he thought it was his, so they had to play with it together for a while. It was great cause Wyatt loved to ride and Porter loved to push, so they were a great team!

I Won a Giveaway!

This is now mine! I won the giveaway for Happy Together's Birthday Giveaway, and I'm so excited about it! Yay for giveaways!

Being Thankful for Late

My life isn't unfamiliar with early in the morning (or late at night...whichever), but tonight, among the being tired and cold (can you really be warm at 3 am?), I am thankful that I am doing something that doesn't shut down my self-esteem like the reasons I began to be familiar with these late hours, which was science. I am thankful that I enjoy why I am up.

I was given this basket-thing with a hole in the bottom from Jordan's grandma and I couldn't resist but to spraypaint it and make it a lamp. So, I spraypainted it, bought a $3 lamp at the DI, and used a wire clothes hanger to make that frame deal that holds up the lamp shade. I think it's beautiful and now I have a bedside lamp!

Things we do with Porter

We love Porter---duh...he's ours AND he just happens to be awesome. So here are some things we do with him:
We feed him
both things that are good for him

and things that aren't

We put cowboy boots on him

We build forts with him

We take him on horsey rides

Fun fun fun!

Thanksgiving was great--we went to St. George to be with Jordan's parents and grandparents, and to be with one if his best friends growing up (Drew) and his wife Sarah (check out their rad blog). On the way down we picked up Jordan's dad (Merrill) from Grandma Lynn's house in Springville (we didn't get any pictures of her--sorry!) Merril entertained Porter in the back of the car. It was a good time.

There was lots of cooking (not really any by me--the Bloxham women stay pretty on top of things...), lots of eating (Porter had pumpkin pie with whipped cream for the first time...didn't really like it), lots of football watching, and lots of shopping the next day! We got all of our Christmas shopping taken care of, and hit up a ton of sales!

On the drive up we stopped at In-N-Out and Porter had it for the first time--it sure is a great place to eat! I always get the fries animal style--yum! Porter'd better be famous cause he's already used to the paparazzi cause all I do is take pictures of him!

On the way back we stopped by Jordan's Grandma Lynn's house again and then went to my Grandparents in Provo. Grandma made us a great dinner of roast and lots of vegetables! We also had very yummy pumpkin pie with homemade whipped cream (yuuuuum)--can't get enough of that! It was a great visit! We also stopped by to see my sister too, but didn't get any pictures of that either--it was great to see her! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

It was a good trip and we were happy to have done it!
