Mom and I took some pictures of the baby today that we were planning on using for the announcement pictures but Jordan boycotted them saying they were "too naked" but that they had to go on the blog, so here they are!

I don't know if I can get this video working, but if it works, yay! This video is showing Baby's eyes open. We're so happy he's here!

Baby's Finally Here
I don't have time to write cause I to go to bed and I'm also typing with one hand while feeding my baby with the other, but his name is Val Porter Bodily, and we call him Porter. He was born at 3:30 pm, January 10th, 6 lbs 8 oz, 20 inches long. I did it all natural (not worth it), which was really hard, but I'm glad I did it (one time). Here are a few pictures. I'll put some videos up when I find a second, and we're having his pictures taken Thursday so I'll hopefully have some sweet pictures to put up soon. Yay for him being here!

Nursing Cover Sewing Adventure
I’ve been seeing all of these mothers with nursing covers and when I ask them where they get them they always give me a place and then tell me they’re between $30 and $50! Well, that isn’t really something I’ll spend that much money on because it’s just a thin piece of fabric, so I made my own! It’s ¾ yard of fabric (the cheap cotton kind you get in the quilting section of the fabric store), ~15 inches of covered wire (you can get it for 99 cents a yard), and a brace deal that are usually for aprons, or belts, or something. It didn’t take me very long to make (like, 45 minutes), and it looks sooooooo awesome. After I made it I walked around the house with it for a little while (similar to when Jordan bought his gun and walked around with it strapped on his back for a week), because I was so excited about it! I even had a friend over today who used it when she nursed and said it worked great! I have it in my hospital bag (which I packed last week, since he could come any day!), and I am so excited to use it! Lots of thanks to Anne for giving me a sewing machine for a baby/graduation present, and thanks to Mom for teaching me how to sew!

Picnik
While my family was here, my 16 yr-old brother, Will, showed me this free website called "Picnik" where you can edit pictures. He's a superstar at it and you can see a lot of his pictures if you're friends with him on Facebook (he'd probably be friends with you for the sole reason you know me), and he gave me some pictures he edited framed for Christmas, all of which are really really really cool. You could pay $25 a year to have the "premium" version, but you could also get it for free and also only edit 5 pictures at a time (which is what I do) and it's awesome. There are a lot of different things you can do to edit the pictures. My personal favorite is "cross process"-ing the pictures because it makes pictures looks soooo awesome (especially summer/beach pictures), but you can do a lot of other different things with them. I edited a picture to get it to look like one of Andy Warhol's that I'm putting in the guest room. I have one that I did of me on Jordan and our honeymoon of me at the beach and I really like it (I cross processed that one). You have to mess around a little to figure out all the cool crap you can do (go under "create" for the coolest things), but as soon as you figure it out it seems like the possibilities are endless!

New Years with the Allens
This New Years was fun. We spent it with the Allens. Nate works with Jordan, and his wife Elisa came to my baby shower. They have two kids: Claire who's 3? and Christian who's 17 months. They're both adorable.
We pretty much just chilled at their house, which was spectacular. We ate good food (which is highlighted in the video), played with the kids, and after the kids went to bed watched The Dark Knight. This is the first year I haven't watched the ball drop, which isn't that big of a deal because it's disappointing every time, but they don't have tv (super good idea), so Jordan and I just kissed and said "Happy New Year" at midnight during the movie. It was low-key which was really nice. Hope everyone enjoyed bringing in the new year as much as we did!
