Baby Update

Went to the dr's today--I'm not any more dilated than I was before (bummer), and someone's getting surgery done when I'm supposed to be induced, so my induction date has been changed from July 6th to July 7th.  I'll go in at 6am, take some pill to ready my body, walk around for 3 hours, and then they'll give me pitocin to get going.  All of that is if she doesn't come before.

A little ride...turned into a big ride

We went on a 4-wheeler ride that was only supposed to last an hour or so and it ended up taking 4 hours because we got SUPER lost!  We went off-roading (not really on purpose), it got dark (it was then 10:30 at night), and we couldn't find our way out and got stuck inside a fence right next to the road to our house, so we walked 1.2 miles home.  I had contractions the last hour of the riding part and the whole walking part...but I knew they'd stop as soon as we'd get home, and they did.  It rained and hailed a little, but P was a great sport about the whole thing!  It was certainly a fun adventure!  Anyway, I got lots of good pictures on our ride! (some of them are blurry but I like them, anyway)  You can see that there were sunny and rainy parts of the ride...the sun peaked out of the clouds on and off the whole night.

Drive In Movie

We are pros at drive-in movies.  I love them so flippin much, and I'm so glad J's a genius so figures out how to make it as comfy as possible...  I REALLY wanted to go to the drive-in last summer when J's whole family was here, but lots of stuff happened and the drive-in wasn't one of them...SO, when we saw Rio was showing, we KNEW we had to go.

Here is what we brought:
P's old crib mattress
3 couch cushions
Black Panther (J's mexican blanket)
The Big Blanket (I don't know why J calls it that, but he does...it's his denim blanket I made for him for Father's Day last year)
P's quilt (again, don't know why we call it that because I didn't make it for P...I made it for me, but somehow he gets to sleep with it every night)
All of the bed pillows in the house
Extra socks just in case
2 liter of soda
Water bottles full of ice
Candy

At the drive-in we bought their food (but it wasn't that great, so we won't do it again), set up the mattress behind us in the back of the subaru leaning up against the chairs (that were leaned up as far as they would go), put the couch cushions under us, put a blanket down, and put 2 of the other blankets on top of us.  We stayed warm, and enjoyed the food and movie!  P got kinda antsy 20 minutes to the end and started to climb around, but other than that he watched the whole thing!  It was a blast!

You Look Great! (NOPE)

P chooses his clothes, often. That's fine--most of the time he looks great.  Most of his shirts are blue, and you can't really go wrong with jeans or khakis...sometimes I wish he'd wear different shoes, but most of the time it's ok.  Not today--today was a disaster.  Thanks to J, he only walked around the house and sat in the car in this outfit, but there was NOTHING I could do to persuade him to change his clothes.  My only word for what he looked like (other than ridiculous) was a gigolo...and that really doesn't even apply.  He just HAD to wear his cowboy boots (usually soooo cute...today, not so much), and I got a pendant for my necklace with E's name on it, and he not only wanted her pendant by HIS, but he wanted to wear it too! (yay for happy about her coming....not so yay about how he looked...).  He had his Buzz shirt (one of 3) and royal blue gym shorts on, so the combination was sooo ugly!  I didn't take a picture of it, so I recreated it on paint.  Enjoy.

Boise

We went & visited some friends from college in Boise and had a BLAST.  Love them.  We went to the temple grounds and let the kids play (on the grass and in the fountain), went swimming (divine...), and just played lots and lots!  Tori (the little girl) had a power wheels (jealous), and P had a GREAT time with it!  He figured out how to go forwards & backwards and just drove around and around (as you can see in the video).  It was so fun to hang out with them and for P to have a friend.  So glad we went!

P.S. If you enjoyed that video, please appreciate that it took so flippin long to load that I almost smacked J in the face for his horrible snoring, which I usually make him roll over for, but couldn't because then he'd tell me to get off the computer but I couldn't because the video was STILL LOADING...grrrrrrrrrr.......

Divine Dream

The blog I've created for the stuff that I'm loving that doesn't have to do with the family is adivinedream.blogspot.com.  It isn't set up completely yet, but I want to keep posting the food stuff, so I'm going to post even though it's still in the creative beginnings.  Go there today for a great bread recipe I made yesterday!

Emma Update

I had a dr's appointment yesterday and I'll have an appointment every Wednesday from now until she shows up.  I got to have an ultrasound because I hadn't gained any weight and wasn't measuring any bigger from last month (which even though I've seen NO emotion this whole 8 months from my dr he got freaked out about, which freaked me out too), in which we found out that she is just fine!  A good healthy size--she's exactly 6 pounds, and I thought she was supposed to gain a pound a week (which made me want to die), but it's closer to a half a pound a week (an ounce a day is more exact), so that's a lot better.  We tried to have her gender checked again but she was being modest (actually, everything's just so squished together), so J still thinks we're having a boy...whatever.  What we did learn though is that her legs are long (measuring 36 1/2 weeks instead of 36), her head is little (measuring 35 weeks [just like P was...]), her belly's right on what it should be, and there's still a good amount of amniotic fluid inside.  We got to see her face, but the picture is ridiculous in that I can't almost tell it's a person.  If she does look like her picture though, she has J's straight nose (which J HATES), so she might look just like J ("poor kid" -J).  We'll see.  I don't have the scanner hooked up, so I can't post the picture, but maybe (yeah right...)

I haven't started being checked to see how dilated I am (which I was really hoping...), but we've scheduled her induction for 7am on Wednesday, July 6th, but I'm kinda thinking she might be a 4th of July baby--let's be honest, though...I really have no idea.

I took a tour of the hospital last week and asked if they had a jacuzzi I could be in during labor (not when she comes out, just during contractions--it was a dream during P), and they said no, but since I requested it they got a portable tub.  What service!

That's the update!

Could it get any better than THIS!?!?!?  Mini cupcakes dipped in frosting and then decorated to perfection--and since they're mini you can eat lots and lots of them!  What a wonderful idea!

Happy June! (I know it's the 2nd already...)

School's over, (yay!) so summer can get started and I can be better at posting... The theme for June is FOOD.  I still have lots of Details stuff left over, so I'll probably slide in some of those too, but mostly it'll be food.  YUM YUM YUM!

Most of them will be NOT healthy...but they will ALL be yummy.  Also, some will be stuff I've made and some will just be diVINE stuff other people have made that you should come over and make for me.
